Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end design process, from initial research and ideation to detailed design development and final production-ready specifications.
Conduct comprehensive user research and ergonomic studies to understand target audience needs, behaviors, and pain points, ensuring products are functional and intuitive.
Create and present multiple design concepts through detailed sketches, mood boards, 3D CAD models, and physical prototypes to internal stakeholders and clients.
Collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary teams, including engineers, marketers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners, to ensure design feasibility and optimize product performance and cost.
Select and specify materials, finishes, and manufacturing methods, balancing aesthetics, durability, sustainability, and budget considerations.
Develop and refine detailed 3D models and technical drawings with precision to support manufacturing, tooling, and quality control processes.
Manage prototyping efforts, including rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and hand-built models, to validate design concepts and identify areas for improvement.
Evaluate and ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines, incorporating sustainable design practices whenever possible.
Analyze product lifecycle considerations, including ease of assembly, maintenance, and end-of-life disposal or recycling.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers and contribute to continuous improvement of design workflows and standards within the team.
Stay at the forefront of design trends, emerging technologies, and material innovations, applying new knowledge to enhance product creativity and competitive advantage.
Prepare comprehensive documentation including design specifications, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and user manuals to support production and marketing efforts.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines and client expectations.
Lead design reviews and presentations, articulating design rationale and decisions clearly to diverse audiences.
Key Activities:

Ensure designs comply with safety, regulatory, and manufacturing standards.
Balance aesthetics and ergonomics in product development.
Use rendering tools (e.g., KeyShot, Blender, V-Ray) to create high-quality visuals.
Build physical mockups or 3D print prototypes for hands-on testing.
Stay updated with design trends, technologies, and industry innovations.
Present final design proposals to clients or internal stakeholders.
Document the design process and specifications for production hand-off.
Manage design timelines to meet product development milestones.
Create and maintain design libraries and templates for internal use.
